Self Embrace

_ I often used to have this personal fight with myself about my creative style. I have many hobbies and go through phases of love with them all. It is slightly obsessive behavior (yes, I admit it!) where I will focus on one hobby for a few months and think, live, breath it and only it. Then suddenly, with no real reason, I migrate over to the next and the process begins again.

Somehow in my large melon I used to deem this as bad behavior. Like I had somehow left my other hobby behind and I was not dedicated to it enough equaling that I was failing it. The last few months I have come to a new realization that this is just how my “ticker ticks” and I just have to embrace it. I am doing no disservice to one thing versus the other, I merely have a desire to create many things and have several mediums to achieve that.  All the things I do in my spare time are things that I love. I love to take pictures. I love to paint. I love to sew. (Insert the remaining of a long list of things I have dabbled in over the years) Due to the fact that I love these things I tend to hold them very close to my heart. They are personal to me. For a long time I also hid them. I would show very few people what I was doing and tend to be a little too self critical. Well to hell with that too!

In light of all these revelations I’ve been coming to terms with I have decided that this blog will not be just dedicating to one thing. It will be EVERYTHING! A pool to gather all my creative ideas and workings.

Cheers to self embracing what we do and sharing with the world. Not everyone will like everything. It’s not realistic to think that but how can anyone not appreciate something that makes a person that much happier. Creating makes me happy!  Everyone should have something that makes them happy.
