This commission series of fur babies is complete. I have been working on these for a little over a year (for a wonderfully patient client). Siblings from the same family, their proud pet parents happily hang them in their home office. Joey will be the last delivered tomorrow. I'm excited to be finished!

Last week I read an blog post by David duChemin(a photography I adore) about being a "chronic starter". Oh did this ever ring true for me. I am GUILTY of this!
I spoke about this a few posts prior to this and I say guilty with no negative context. I start lots and do eventually get to them. I decided to take a tally of all of the projects I have started right now ...... 16 TOTAL! I've got my work a head of me. I completed the owl I've been working on forever. What do you think? 24" x 72" is the size of this piece. Now hung safe in it's new home of Fort McMurray.
Custom color matched and size chosen for the space in the new home of one of my dearest friends. It took me long enough to complete for them (which is mostly due to my few minor panic attacks that they may not like the end result) but I am certainly happy with the finished product (as are the new owners). P.S. The added bonus to delivery was I also got to me Baby R for the first time :) I'm in love! Finally he is complete! "Teddy" is a commission piece I have created for a much loved friend. She is presenting him as a 30th wedding anniversary present to her husband, whom is very fond of the eldest family dog. They currently have 3 fur babies but Teddy is by far his favorite. I have the pleasure of knowing Teddy. He is timid and wee but oh so sweet.
I don't focus a lot of my painting on portraits but do enjoy them and love the challenge they present. I'm very happy with the results of this piece. I am surrounded by a group of family and friends whom continually support my work but there is something about making a piece for someone whom is close to me that creates an extra level of pressure. Teddy will be making his way home to Kelowna, BC on Saturday and I hope his new owner will enjoy him as much as I enjoyed creating him. Happy Tuesday They are finally done and I finally got to make the big reveal of the custom pieces I created for R.
Between busy schedules, an awful flu, and vacations, I have been waited with baited breath to share them. I am so happy they have finally made it home and that R is happy with them. Thank you for the awesome opportunity to create a custom work for your home! I think they go so well with all the beautiful decor Kim, Midori Spaces, has pulled together for you (if I do say so myself!). Interested in a custom piece for your home? Please contact me. I'd be happy to discuss it with you. |
