Painting for me!

Painting is essentially always for me (being my creative outlet) but these items are specifically for my own home. They are not varnished yet because I am not quite committed that they are done.  This was the first time I have tackled a series with a common theme.  I'm super happy with the results!  This makes me want to work more series work. 

Last week was an exciting week for me. I signed up for my first commission for a home. It will be a series of 3 large canvas. I received the referral from my dear friend, Kim, certified Interior Decor/Green Consultant , who thought of me when she was helping beautifully decorate the home of a client.  We pulled some colors and firmed up the rough idea with the client and off to the art store I went. I'm pumped!

I've been mixed colors and applying texture with great care. I'm excited and scared all at once. It is a completely different ball game then just painting at will but so awesome because what more could I ask for..... creating a custom series for someones home.  Art that was specifically cultivated for a person's most cherished space. I'm honored!  I will post the end result when I'm done (and of course the client has seen them first).
